NOIRVEMBER SALE at my Etsy Shop

Announcing my biggest sale of the year: 20% off of every item in my Etsy shop all month! Get a head start on holiday shopping before Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Happy holidays! And I hope everybody has been participating in Noirvember!

Ida Lupino

Available in two sizes, 9×6″ and 14×11″.

To celebrate, I highly recommend visiting Film Forum in NYC, which is celebrating Ida Lupino’s centenary with a festival devoted to her films. It ends November 22. Ida was the first woman to direct a film noir, THE HITCH-HIKER. Known for her “tough roles at Warner Bros.,” she “then reinvented herself as a pioneer indie director, writer and producer, the first woman of the sound era to do so and the only woman director in Hollywood for decades, tackling once-taboo subject matter, under her company banner The Filmmakers.”

We ship everywhere.

BOOK COVER FOR STEPHEN JARED’S THE CHAMELEON THIEF OF CAIRO

Available now! Stephen Jared‘s espionage thriller The Chameleon Thief of Cairo. I was lucky enough to be asked by Stephen to illustrate the cover, the third installment of his Jack Hunter series. Print and ebook versions are available on Amazon. Stephen is an actor and writer and is currently the associate producer of a forthcoming documentary on the legendary movie poster artist Richard Amsel.

“It’s 1948. The war is over yet trust among nations is low. While Cairo is jittery with calls for revolution, American spies are murdered, and new eyes are needed on the ground.
Having earned recognition for heroics in China during the war, Jack Hunter is asked to assist in gathering information. He and his best friend travel to Egypt hoping to revisit the spirit of earlier adventures. Shortly upon arrival, however, what they find is not a lively escapade but a changed world, people torn apart by grievances, dark alliances to money and power, fundamentalism, and cynical, suspicious characters on all sides. The darkness of war seems to have settled into people’s bones. As a result, Jack’s latest tale is his most harrowing, and could even be his last.”

Located on Stony Brook Harbor, the beautiful waterfront building the gallery and tasting room is located in was built in 1690 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There will be a jazz concert after the reception for those who want to stick around.

Paintings inspired by the films of Alain Robbe-Grillet (select paintings from my series), abstract pieces, and artwork inspired by Old Hollywood will be on display. Everything is available for purchase. They will be exhibited for an entire month. See you there!
