I am a freelance illustrator and writer living in New York.
As a writer of fiction and poetry, I am influenced by hard-boiled American detective novels, film noir, gangster films, Beat poetry, Greek/Roman mythology, and bebop.
I graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Cinema Studies.
I’m currently helping Academy Award-nominated director Immy Humes on a Shirley Clarke documentary in Brooklyn. I’m the Social Media Manager, writer and editor at Rune Works Productions, an entertainment agency for artists, run by artists. I also write for Edible magazine.
In the film-fantasy of my life, I would be exiled from New York so I can live in California (and Paris), traverse all of Route 66 with Chuck Berry blasting, and start a criminal empire. In my vision, I’d be a cross between Walter White, Bugsy Siegel, and Tom Ripley, and I would dress like a cross between Alain Delon in Le Samouraï and Marianne Faithfull in The Girl on a Motorcycle. Basically, I would lead an all-girl vigilante gang and our weapons would be built into our wardrobes.
I have a passion for the Great American Songbook, French New Wave, poetic realism, exploitation films, vintage erotica, and pulp paperbacks. My heroes are Raymond Chandler, Frank Sinatra, Jean-Pierre Melville, Weegee, Baudelaire, Yukio Mishima, Kenneth Anger, and Patricia Highsmith.
I illustrate all of my stories, as well as my own upcoming zine, and maintain a store where you can purchase my prints, as well as other items.
Feel free to follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr. I’m excited to hear from you all :).
